Pumping concrete into curved pipes

Base connections with dummy bar to create void for the Dywidag rods

                                           Brackets were welded to curved pipes

The curved pipes are ready for shipping The lower chord (straight pipes) was prepared for casting (a)
The lower chord (straight pipes) was prepared for casting (b)

Gravity and flowable mix were necessary to cast the straight pipe

 

 

0.25- in. holes were used for air vent

Voids in the upper part of the pipes were filled with high strength grout before Post-Tensioning

Load cell and central hollow Jack were used to monitor and apple the load during the Post-Tensioning operation.
